Geopolitical Outlook 2025: End of Co-existence?

2024 has been marked by growing geopolitical instabilities in the global order, including the ongoing war in Ukraine, extreme volatility in the Middle East, intensifying strategic competition between the United States and China, and instrumental cooperation between Russia, China, and North Korea. Against this backdrop, the global elections of 2024 raise profound questions about the future direction of the international community. There is mixed anticipation surrounding this issue: will the elections in the US, Europe, India, and Asia guide us toward resolving today’s pressing problems, or will they further fuel rising nationalistic tendencies around the world? The speakers in this session will share their views on the dynamics between the ideal of a strengthened rules-based international order, the realities of nationalistic approaches, and the challenges to the existing order and norms. #geopolitics #2025 #election2024 Copyright ⓒ Maeil Business Newspaper.
