War on Drugs: The Importance of International Cooperation│Ben Westhoff, Deborah Bonello

Drugs are no longer just a problem in certain countries. The war on drugs is going on all over the world. The rapid spread of fentanyl, a cheap opioid painkiller, in the United States has become a major social problem. Drug cartels in Latin America are suspected of importing cheap Chinese ingredients to make fentanyl and distributing it to the United States. Korea's status as a "drug-free country" is also faltering. Korea has long been a transit point for drugs, and the number of addicts such as methamphetamine and even Fentanyl continues to increase in the country. How should we deal with the drug problem? In this session, Ben Westhoff and Deborah Bonello, investigative journalists, and Cho Byoung-sang, former director of the NIS' counterterrorism department, will discuss how the international community should deal with the drug problem. #fentanyl #drug #china #mexico #insightcrime Copyright ⓒ Maeil Business Newspaper.
