The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a mega free trade agreement spearheaded by China in 2020, currently involves 15 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. RCEP is intended to reduce trade barriers between countries, facilitate investment flows, and enhance economic cooperation. The agreement is particularly closely aligned with China's economic strategy, contributing to the country's growing economic influence and strengthening its global trade network. In this session, Dr. Li Wei, Professor of Economics at China's first private business school, Changjiang Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), will discuss the future of the global economy, and in particular how RCEP connects to China's economic strategy. He will examine the role of RCEP and the process of re-globalization interacting and impacting the global economic order, and will discuss in-depth what new opportunities and challenges these changes present for businesses and policymakers.
